IT’S NOT WORTH THE RISK OF SELLING
ALCOHOL WITHOUT A LICENCE
In accordance with The Licensing Act 2003 (England and Wales), anyone who is responsible for the sale of alcohol to the public by retail on licensed premises, must be a Personal Licence Holder. The penalties for serving alcohol without the appropriate licences are heavy fines and/or imprisonment. On completion of our Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders course, you will hold a licensing qualification with which you can then apply for the Personal Licence.
Did you know?
By law you could be held responsible You do not need to hold a personal licence to be employed in a pub or any other business that sells alcohol. However, if you are the person responsible for selling alcoholic beverages, then there are legal requirements, responsibilities and protection issues that you not only need to be aware of but also hold a suitable qualification in to allow you to operate within the law. Failure to do so could result in unlimited fines and/or a maximum jail term of six months. That’s not to mention the resulting damage to your business, reputation and staff, with police having the powers to suspend or close licensed premises.
What to do now? Before you supply alcohol from your company’s premises you need to make sure you have the requisite licences, which may include a premises licence. By completing Nutshell Training’s Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders, you will be taking the first, crucial step towards meeting the legal requirements that will allow you to safely and responsibly sell alcohol to members of the public.
